Connect with leaders and managers from across the Rockhampton Region to discuss challenges and opportunities facing local businesses, in the inaugural event of the Local Leaders Lunch series.

The first instalment of the Local Leaders Lunch will provide business leaders with an overview of mental health and psychological safety in the workplace, and how it relates to personal wellbeing and workforce retention. Worksafe Queensland data has found absenteeism is 3x higher in workplaces perceived as 'mentally unhealthy' which can cause a significant impact on the overall success of a business, and take a personal toll on staff.

At this free event:

• Advance Rockhampton will outline its offerings around business support, workforce retention and economic development
• Cherry Medlin from Headspace Rockhampton with deliver an insightful Mental Health 101 presentation, offering expert knowledge and practical tips to better understand and support mental health in the workplace
• Scott Martin from the Institute of Managers and Leaders will discuss the powerful link between mental health and leadership, and how strong leadership can foster a successful and mentally healthy workplace
• Engage in a unique and invaluable fireside chat with both speakers, as they share their experiences managing mental health in personal and professional settings
• Meet and connect with other local leaders from across the Rockhampton Region

To ensure maximum benefit, participation is by expression of interest and those successful should attend all three workshops (14th March, 6th June, 12th September).
